St. Valentine's Day was Gregory Hines birthday and we went to celebrate his "day" with his daughter Daria and our friend Negrita who was engaged to Gregory when he passed away in 2003. We watched a video of Gregory dancing with the Boston Pops Orchestra and another of Dan Rather interviewing Gregory together with his dear friend and mentor, Sammy Davis Jr. It was a great party.
I met Gregory and Negrita in 2000, at the time I was helping a friend with a video project, he was there to help also and he was so kind all the way through. At the end I wanted to take a few shots of Gregory alone and of course he let me, but I was so taken to be in the presence of one of my biggest idol that I couldn't shoot fast enough so I took only a few shots. Here is one of the photo I took that day. Grazie Gregory, I hope you're "bringin' da noise" in heaven. Ciao.

Gregory and I had a wonderful time that morning taking photos with you, which also sparked the beginning of our dear friendship with you. Gregory's most favorite photo of us together is the one you took where we were facing each other aiming for a kiss. He just loved that one for so many reasons!
